Welcome Manual To Japan, we now continue our journey in the historical and former capital of Kyoto City. This time we went to one of the most popular tourist spots in Kyoto which is Arashiyama Bamboo Forest.
Being an historical and cultural center in old Japan, Kyoto is filled with a lot of temples and sacred spaces, this also paved way for natural beauty to flourish, and this is where the Bamboo Forest got the attention of many.
My mom, sister, and brother got themselves kimono outfits so they can make most of our short stay at Arashiyama. Well I opted out since I would take photos and direct how they are taken, you know... for art.
The Forrest is big and takes minutes to almost a hour to walk, but with a lot of things to see along the way, you walk closer to nature and that instagramable moment. There are a lot of people going to and from the different parts of the bamboo forest. Mostly on foot, but you can also try a rickshaw at the main road and select routes.
There are temples and shrines along the way, however entrance comes with a fee yet they also gives that experience of solemnity and spirituality which date back many centuries ago.
Once you get into the thickest part of the forest, that is where the best place to snap a picture, appreciate nature and also walk with fellow tourists. And yes, having a kimono works wonders for that photograph, you can rent a complete set in shops at the main road.
Indeed Arashiyama bamboo forest is a must go to place in Japan, it represents ancient culture mixed with the beautiful nature that everyone can appreciate and you won't even notice that you have walked a lot while enjoying the view.
