From traditional ryokans to manga-themed stays: Top 10 most wishlisted Airbnb Stays for your next trip to Japan

It’s time to include Japan on your travel destination list! The Land of the Rising Sun fully reopened for visa-free, individual travel earlier this month and the Japanese Embassy in the Philippines has announced that they are now accepting applications for all visas.

 

According to latest data from an Airbnb survey conducted among Filipinos this October, 9 in 10 Filipino adults intend to travel to Japan when they are able to and 45 percent ranked Japan their number one travel wishlist destination. The data also showed that 71 percent of Filipino respondents would like to visit a major city in Japan. Approximately a third indicated that having a unique accommodation was important when traveling to Japan.*

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta) today (October 12) hosted a Marvels in Hong Kong media event in collaboration with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) in Manila, the Philippines, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). 

Hong Kong has always been a popular tourist destination, boasting rich tourism and cultural assets. With the lifting of the compulsory quarantine requirement for overseas visitors since late September and various mega events in the pipeline, HKETO Jakarta is delighted to present the media event to showcase Hong Kong’s latest developments in areas such as arts, culture and tourism to the Philippine community.  

Emirates SkyCargo and United Cargo announce landmark agreement

Emirates SkyCargo and United Cargo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that follows on the heels of the new broader historic commercial agreement between two of the largest global airlines. This coordination will deliver benefits to air freight customers of both Emirates Skycargo and United Cargo around the world.

The MoU was signed at the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) – IATA event in London, UK by Nabil Sultan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Cargo and Jan Krems, President, United Cargo.

HKETO Jakarta launches “Marvels in Hong Kong: 25 Years and Beyond” roving exhibition in Manila to celebrate 25th anniversary of establishment of HKSAR

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Jakarta (HKETO Jakarta) today (October 14) launched the “Marvels in Hong Kong: 25 Years and Beyond” roving exhibition in Manila, the Philippines, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).

Co-organised by HKETO Jakarta with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Office and the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the exhibition aims to underscore the remarkable achievements of the HKSAR over the past 25 years, as well as to highlight Hong Kong's unlimited opportunities under the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and its appeal in such areas as tourism and culture. Following the lifting of compulsory quarantine requirement for overseas visitors to Hong Kong, HKETO Jakarta aims to showcase different facets of Hong Kong’s latest developments, thereby attracting business and leisure travellers from the Philippines to visit the city.

The Barrettos’ iconic rest house is now on Airbnb: Gather the family for a festive getaway hosted by Marjorie and Julia!

To celebrate the advent of this year’s Christmas festivities, the Barretto family has announced that they will become Airbnb Hosts and list their luxurious family villa in Calumpit, Bulacan on Airbnb.

Entertainment veteran Marjorie Barretto and famous actress-model Julia Barretto will be opening the doors of the River Garden Rest House on Airbnb for three consecutive weekends — with the first stay on 15 October hosted in-person by the renowned mother-daughter duo, who will share their favourite spots around the villa and attractions nearby. 

 



The rest house will be available for a one-night stay on three exclusive dates: October 15, October 22, and October 29. Priced at Php25,000 per night excluding additional fees, the rest house can accommodate up to a maximum of 16 pax.
