Manila Cathedral Opens Its Doors After Years of Renovation!

The Manila Cathedral is considered one of the best Catholic Cathedral in the Philippines and is the seat of the Archdiocese of Manila which has been established since the Spanish colonization. The Cathedral has been destroyed by many times and by many ways like earthquake, fire, war and more. And the latest reconstruction was made after the war which took a lot of years. It is one of the remaining churches in the Intramuros area with San Agustin Church.

The Cathedral is a popular place for pilgrimage, tourism and weddings. It was closed for renovation for almost 2 years where visitors could only go up to the closed doors. It missed several occasions of the liturgical year. It was announced that either late March or early April the Cathedral will once again opens it doors to the public. And just in time with Holy Week starting next week.

On its opening, there are a lot of improvements. I will have to see it for myself since I'll be going on "Visita Iglesia" next week with the Manila Cathedral as one of our stops. For a little teaser, here is a aerial video made by Raffy Tima of GMA News of the Manila Cathedral which is truly breathtaking. enjoy!
