Unveiling the Hidden Gems of Rizal’s Hometown

Aside from being the proud birthplace of the Philippines’ National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, Calamba, a vibrant city in the heart of Laguna province is also known as the “Spring Resort Capital of the Philippines” due to the multitude of resorts that can be found there. Highly accessible and with so much to offer, Calamba is just one of the many destinations the Department of Tourism (DOT) aims to highlight as it explores more tourism projects in Laguna.

“Steeped in history and culture, the province of Laguna is brimming with tourism opportunities that will benefit locals and guests alike. The birthplace of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the location of the beautiful Mount Makiling and the Pagsanjan Gorge National Park, there’s so much to see and experience here. Calamba’s historical significance makes it a must-see destination for all tourists who want to learn more about Philippine history. I am keen to see younger generations to also come and visit as it is highly important for our future generations to stay connected with our roots, which is why traveling to these places has so much more meaning. We hope that more tourists will add Calamba, and other tourist destinations in Laguna to their itinerary so they can discover more reasons to love the Philippines.

Have Tickets, Will Travel: Filipino Concert Tourism Takes Flight with Seamless Travel Tools

With Filipinos investing in ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ musical experiences, GCash enables worry-free travel with a convenient platform for travel insurance and enables payment options overseas

From Swifties who flocked to The Eras Tour to KPop stans chasing their biases, Filipinos are increasingly willing to travel overseas to see their favorite music acts.

Many combine these trips with vacations to fuel the growing trend of music tourism. A study by Expedia notes that 44% of the respondents would travel to take in a concert as an excuse to visit a new destination.

However, music tourism is an investment in itself. The costs of flights, accommodations, tickets, merchandise, and daily expenses add up, and concertgoers save for months, even years, to make it happen.

Zata Aquino mounts First Solo Exhibit Sining sa Paleta

Zata Aquino holds her 1st Solo Art Exhibit entitled “Sining sa Paleta” at Gateway Mall, Q.C. The show runs from Nov. 28- Dec 4, 2024.

Zata Aquino is a full-time housewife who used to work in the computer industry. At 51, she joined art workshops to formally study art for the first time. With her art exposure, she felt renewed and felt that her life began again. Suddenly, almost everyone and everything inspired her to push her art.

Zata’s art journey came in waves, sometimes in trickles, and sometimes in bursts. She took great pleasure in the creative flow because each artwork was a new and exciting adventure. Her joy was in the artistic process: the idea, the learning, the discovery of materials and techniques, and composition challenges.
