SNAP SHOTS: Metropolitan Theater

It has been decades since the public has been inside the Metropolitan Theater in Manila which used to be the grandest place for performing in the metro. But even after restoration after the war, the building goes down to more ruins and even up to now the building is still not open to the public, however there are some exceptions wherein some have performed in the still-renovating building. One of them is my theater organization in PLM called Marulaya when they staged "Ehipto". The place does have good seats however there is no electricity so a generator must be provided.

There are still rumors of a lot of supernatural happenings inside the building, strangely when I got inside my flash in my camera does not work anymore. But above all that, the thing that will entice you are the beautiful decorations of the Theater that you will never find in the modern ones. Its such a pity that this has not yet been fully restored, it would have helped in making the cultural scene in the country more vibrant as well as it is considered a architectural gem of the city.
