It's More Fun In the Philippines Repackaged With New Campaign

There is a new tourism campaign that was launched by the DOT today which aims to bring a fresh look in promoting the country to the world. The department kept the catchy phrase of "It's More Fun In The Philippines" and pointed that follows the consistency made by Asian countries like Malaysia, Thailand, and India.

The unveiling was led by DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat which also revealed the campaign with specific details like the new logo, font, and direction of the tourism objectives. The new logo shows a new style yet with a similar theme of weaved lines which shows how culture and beauty of the country is intertwined.

The slogan has a new look with a new font called Barabara specifically made for the promotion which they also have available for public download. Inspired with the unique sign typography in many Filipino signage like jeepneys, hand paintings, etc.

They also encourage its use to promote tourism via social media as it will crowd-source pictures, videos, and other posts. This refresh to the campaign hope to boost more awareness about the country despite the challenges it faced especially when terrorism struck in some places of the country.

With the reopened Boracay Island, and the ongoing Manila bay clean up, the potential of tourism is growing amid the problems encountered, yet many agree that the country has more to offer and some are waiting to be discovered.

Personaly, I like the new logo and the font and happy they kept the same slogan which was already effective. The challenge is to make it really appealing to tourists both local and foreign, and agencies work together rather individually to make tourism goals work. I've also downloaded the font and happy to integrate it with the travel posts I will be making!
